Personal Development Planning PDP related materials

Here is a selection of various skills-audit type materials I have used with students over the years. I suggest you download and then amend then to suit your own course and PDP processes. Use the materials flexibly, to suit you. Most of the materials are designed to be simple and easy to use, they are deliberately not complex.
I see Personal Development Planning, or Personal and Professional Development Planning as I prefer to call it, a structured process by which a person reflects upon and plans their own current and future learning and development; either personal development or professional development. This will include developing employability skills.

“There is a crucial difference between declarative knowledge, knowing a concept and its technical skills, and procedural knowledge, being able to put those concepts and details into action. Knowing does not equal doing, whether playing the piano, managing a team, or acting on essential advice at the right moment”. (Daniel Goleman, Emotional Intelligence, 1997). PDP helps develop both procedural knowledge and declarative knowledge.

One definition of PDP is that it is "a structured and supported process undertaken by an individual to reflect upon their own learning, performance and/or achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development" (Norman Jackson, LTSN Generic Centre).

"There can be no learning without action, and no action without learning" (Reg Revans - who developed the concept of Action Learning".
